NEW CUSTOM HOMES

We use our knowledge of residential structural engineering and relevant building codes to create a complete set of construction documents and a calculation package. During the design process, we will coordinate with the architect, geotechnical engineer, and all other trades involved to verify there is consistency across all documents required for building permit submittal and approval. We provide structural framing and foundation plans, construction details, and a calculation package that includes gravity analysis, lateral analysis, and foundation design for the new structure.

  • Wood-Framed Homes

  • Masonry/Block Homes

  • Hercuwall Homes

  • Hillside Homes

New Custom Home projects can include (but are not limited to):

  • Post-tension Slabs

  • Conventional Slabs

  • Crawl Space Foundations

  • Basements

REMODELS & ADDITIONS

For modifications to existing structures, it is key to understand how the framing was built. We coordinate closely with the home owner and contractor to determine the state of the existing structure and how the design changes will impact the structural elements. Once the site has been inspected and the relevant information has been collected, we would provide the necessary construction documents and a calculation package required for building permit submittal.

Remodels & Additions can include (but are not limited to):

  • Removing load-bearing walls

  • Expanding a bedroom or garage

  • Raising ceiling or soffit heights

  • Removing a structural post

  • Rearranging the interior floor plan

  • Expanding a covered patio

VALUE ENGINEERING

Our knowledge of the residential industry and local construction practices allows us to provide efficient, economical, and constructible plans. With that knowledge, we review previously engineered structural plans for cost-saving opportunities. We also review architectural plans during the initial development of the design concept and provide recommendations that would lead to a more economical construction process. Our value engineering services can be done at any phase of design prior to construction; we can coordinate with the architect, home owner, or contractor for this process.
